General

One of the highlights of a stay at Matetsi is the private stretch of the Zambezi River where guests can take motorboat and canoeing excursions exploring the riverbanks with its birdlife, hippos and crocodiles.

The lodge is actually two camps each with nine suites and its own guest area overlooking the river.  The two camps share a central lodge area with a swimming pool, gym and wine cellar.  The spacious and luxurious suites, including two bedroom family suites, all face the river and have a contemporary design with unique works of art.

If you are looking for more exclusivity look no further than the River House Private Villa which can accommodate four adults and four children and has a swimming pool, indoor and outdoor dining areas, a private chef and butler and a dedicated guide and game drive vehicle.

The ultimate location from which to explore magnificent Unesco World Heritage site Victoria Falls, Matetsi Victoria Falls offers a whole new way of experiencing the world’s greatest waterfall in luxury.  Just 40 km upriver from Victoria Falls, Matetsi is unique in its offer of both world-class safari experiences and idyllic accommodation from which to visit the Falls. Stellar five-star service from attentive butlers and premium facilities are rivalled only by the spectacular natural wonders surrounding the lodge. Accompanied by knowledgeable conservation-minded guides, Matetsi Private Game Reserve’s 55,000 hectares of pristine wilderness can be explored on foot, by vehicle and by boat, while great herds of elephant, buffalo and plains game delight and amaze.

With its award-winning, distinctly African design, Matetsi, comprising River Lodge, two intimate river-facing camps of nine suites each, and River House, an exclusive-use four bedroomed villa, offers every world-class comfort. The design throughout features local copper, wood and polished earth finishes and hand-made contemporary African furnishings.

At the heart of the property, stylish contemporary living spaces – wide stone and wood open-plan spaces – offer massage and fitness studios, a library/meeting space, private wine cellar and a 20m lap pool in which to swim under Zimbabwe’s famed blue skies.

Victoria Falls

Victoria FallsThe Victoria Falls are the most significant feature of the Victoria Falls National Park, and when the Zambezi is in full flood (usually February or March) they form the largest curtain of falling water in the world. During these months, over 500 million litres of water per minute go over the falls, which are 1708m
